White or Black - the Modern Sideboard

White and black, black or white. Incredibly, these two colours (some would argue 'shades') are the most versatile of all colour possibilities. Take for example Coco Chanel who famously introduced women to "the absence of colour". Her entire colour palette consisted of only 5 colours: black, white, beige, gold and red [watch the video].

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.” - Coco Chanel, Chanel

The above has been styled demonstrating the versatility of the apparent lack of colour. Softening black and whites into muted tones, introducing camel sheepskins and natural floor coverings.

Green plant-life 'pops' and the subtleties of the book binds draw your eye. This is where the perfect use of black and white set the stage for raw timber and other natural elements to shine.
